I was searching for information about Raphael Gesqua, composer of the Flashback theme, in the vague hope to find his homepage full of great music and remixes*. Instead, and to my surprise, I found this

http://www.vgmix.com/search.php?compose ... ael+Gesqua

http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR01054 "new"

http://www.modarchive.com/artists/audiomonster

Its nice to find remixes of it. However I wouldn't mind if someone else had another go, preferably close to the original style. The remix by JD Harding is best in my oppinion although both lack the coolness of the original. The ideal remix would have to improve and build on the original instead of reinventing it, its just too good to be reinvented. ;~) I don't expect many to be interested in making a remix like that but I wouldn't mind being surprised, obviously. :~P In fact there are two cool songs in Flashback.

Cool cover innit? One more below

I still have a miserable wav recorded from the amiga version. Would love to hear a remix made by one of our "local" heroes.

You stay with the tracker-like approach?
Very close to the original with better instruments and effects, as far as my crappy wav and my memory serves me.
I'm curious. How will the final turn out?

Yes, I like the tracker interface style, and Renoise is like made for Amiga remixing in that sence.

I'm building on having the original feel, going towards genuine 80's electronic synth blended with this orchestral epicness on the continuing build. =)
The MOD really only has the BG "feel" of a melody, but still it's damn good. Upside of it is that there's grand openings for improvised melodies. =)
We'll see how you think of it when I'm done. =)

IIRC there was a remix that was done when the game was released, some kind of LE CD, was pretty cool from what I recall.

Sorry to dig up a really old thread...

I actually have this, it's a 2 track audio CD arranged by J. Baudlot and F. Visserot. And yes, you're right...it's very cool.

For those interested, I've found a YouTube video with one of the tracks...although it does appear to be a slightly remixed version.

Would be great to hear some more remixes of the music from this game.
