The Cars - Drive Parody/Cover of sorts

I love the original tune, and I have the same drum-samples they used for that tune lying around and some presets that were pretty similar. I also had some samples of Slaygon singing "aaaaaah" which are great to make a fake-sounding choir (which the original tune arguably has).
So I tried to make it as similar as possible, with some changes:

The lead is just there to indicate where the singing is.
I have in mind a sort of cover of the song with altered lyrics.
For example, instead of;
"Who's gonna pick you up, when you fall"
the lyrics will be more like;
"Who's gonna turn you on, when you're off"
As if the guy is singing to his C64.
Terribly unimaginative that example, though. :p

That sounds really nice, i always liked the original tune too. It will be interesting to see what lyrics you come up with.

I have now copied the full arrangement. If you play them side by side it sounds pretty similar. The toms and the bongos aren't 100% correct, though. But I don't think that's necessary. It's close enough. Maybe I should fix the hihat (which isn't in the original) and the shaker sometime.
Edit: Just listened to Squirrley and Subzero's... errr... outstanding performance. LOL
