Symphonic Competition Results

It was a very close call as to whom would finish in 1st place and it came down to just a single deciding vote to finalise the outcome. Both remixes are excellent and it was really tough to decide who came out on top. However Markus Schneider just crept in there and won the Orchestral Remix compo. Well Done Markus.
In general Rafeal was voted third by many of the judges and this was probably the easiest decision of the lot. A really good piece of work here, but maybe not quite upto the excellence as 1st and 2nd places.
Positions 4-7 were impossible to judge with everyone having differing opions on these remixes. But by and large the general thought pattern remained the same with all judging.
Unfortunately Naughtyboy's work really didn't fit into the catagory of what we asked for. Everyone agreed that it's a really good remix and was unfortunate to finish where it is.

1. Markus Schneider - Crown 1,4
2. Markus Holler - Scarabaeus 1,6
3. Rafael Dyll - XOut 3,6
4. Ruiner - Driven 25 5,0
5. Larsec - Commando 5,2
6. LaLa - Spellbound 5,6
7. Eric - Delta 6,2
8. Michel Sirieix - Human Race 7,8
9. Naughtyboy - Acid Groove 8,6

80s Style Competition Results

Though only 4 entires in the 80's compo section. It still was a tough job to judge. Cirdan just edged the voting with his excellent remix which is typically 80's. Congrats Cirdan.
Both PPOT's and Jeroens remixes are both really good and any of the top three tunes could have finished at top spot, it was very a close call across the spectrum.
Tho Sidicums Batman finished last out of the four, there's no denying that it's a good effort and it's certainly worth a listen.

1. Cirdan - Puca City 1,7
2. Jeroen Breebaart - IK 2,0
3. Press Play On Tape - Ark Pandora 2,3
4. Sidicium - Batman 4,0

About The CD's

As you probably know already Remix64 is an 80's remix CD of c64 Classic anthems.

Merregnon 2 is the follow up to Merregnon, which has been the most succesful scene CD ever. Merregnon 2 is set to take the concept of the 1st and take it one step further. This time the prague philamonic Orchestra has been recruited to achieve the perfect ideals set by Producer Thomas Boecker. It's also the first CD to be signed up to a major Record Label and will be released in the shops all over the world.

Immortal 2 is the follow up to Immortal (clever guess😉 ) It's a remix CD containing some superb remixes of Amiga Music done by no other than the actual musicians who wrote the original pieces. 😊
Remix64 - The CD

What To Do?

Either Remix a c64 tune in the style of the 80's or remix a c64 tune in the orchestral style.

The best tune in either style will win remix64 (signed), Merregnon 2 upon it's release and Immortal 2 upon it's release.

Plus it's possible that a tune in either style might be used on remix64 vol. 2 or Bit4 (if it really really shines).

Remix 3 sids into 1. Now the question lies how do you perceive
that. Well there are no right or wrong way to do this. You could make 3 tracks and blend them into each other or you could say take the drums of one, the baseline of another and the melody of another and wham you got the remixes in one.

We had only 2 entries to this Oxygene 8 remix competition. Both indeed were very good. Trace's entry was the typial SID cover. Bart's Cover mixed Elements of Myth with Oxygene 8 in a more synthy style.
