As far as I'm concerned, the author of a SID is also the performer, and the SID is a performance. No less so certainly than a lot of dance tracks, which are programme...

You may be right (though people seem surprisingly unkeen to give out money, even people who seem like nice guys!). It's not Console who made most of the money out of Martin's work: it's the record labels. My claim is that Martin should be acknowledged as part author of the track: if that is admitted...

Um
> [dammit money troubles] Most people who somehow found hidden reserves and came to previous BIT Live events never regretted it: after all, it's a very rare event, and entry is only the price of a beer or two... though obviously travel is also a factor. The question is: can you afford to MISS it? :)...

That's wrong, however you cut it. Of course, I haven't seen the album cover. M...

Already done
My underwater killers filled in their paperwork, and tomorrow Ben Daglish will own 10% of the track. Cool or what?

Well, first of all, people who cover stuff on RKO have blanket permission from the main composers to do it. So they're legal after all. And everyone else doesn't mind. It's only when there's commercial activity that I get involved. I remember this game: it was a promotional game for some company wri...

This is exactly the kind of thing I have to deal with. They've used Ben's work to "Pay homage", but I'd be truly surprised if they actually credited him as part-composer of the work or mentioned him in any way at all. So if this was the case, it would be no homage at all: just passing off ...
