Agreed. The same song is also used in "Curse of the Azure Bonds". The original SID is only 1:40 long, but maybe there are ways to naturally extend or blend it with something else (Heart of Africa etc to make it all-Dave Warhol?) if more length is required.

(continues on the off-topic) If I'm not mistaken, there is a London in West Virginia, one in Ohio, one in Kentucky, one in Arkansas and one in Texas. Not to mention London in Ontario, Canada. New London in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Iowa, Connecticut, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina...

Maybe it will be the next big thing to hold an event and tell what city but not which country it is. Bonus for those showing up in the right country, big joke on those not. The next step would be to arrange the same event in all Yorks, Perths, Berlins all over the world, so those going to the wrong ...

Does anyone of you have double sound cards in your PC? In that case, does Winamp 5 work for you? In my new PC, I have integrated sound plus a separate card, and when I try to use both, Winamp 5 locks up in its start phase. I reported this as a bug on the Winamp forum, but maybe it is only my compute...

Yep, I noticed the exact same thing when my orchestra rehearsed the LoTR music. The Parallax progression appears in more than one of the themes too. Side note: our orchestra found the music a big disappointment. Despite being on the second or most difficult level of arrangement, and despite being an...

What does "proper female" mean in this context? Was there any known male composers pretending to be women (Roberta, Martina, Paula, Anthonia and Benita? ;-) before this?

As a side note, Nullsoft has now completely dropped support for both Winamp 2.x and 3.x. Instead, they have released Winamp 5.0 (2+3) which is supposedly a direct replacement for both the old versions. The old Winamp 2 plugins should work with Winamp 5.0, so anyone trying the SID Amp plugin might wa...

Is there some deal for exclusive rights to publish remixes through the "official" channels if one has your own channels of distribution?

you need to be specifically musically trained to do them so there are no problems: or at least to have done an awful lot of reading and self-learning. If it helps anyone, I can write down my self-learned knowledge on possible and useful ranges, capacities, strengths and transponation when it comes ...

Btw, there is a Music XML proposed which in the future could be used to transfer written music between different notation software. Only a handful or fewer supports it today, but hopefully there will be a standard which means the sources could be kept in a compatible format apart from the ready-to-p...

96 different parts - what kind of orchestra would you write for? A symphonic orchestra typically consists of violin 1 and 2, viola, cello, contrabass, flute(s), oboe(s), clarinet(s), bassoon(s), french horn(s), trumpet(s), trombone(s), possibly tuba, timpani and other percussion. Of those, each stri...

Erm.. actually I didn't mean to list all potential covers  , but only a sentence like "songs originating from other systems may fit better on the following remix sites: blah blah" as unlike Bach covers, there may be a suitable Amiga or generic site for those. Of course, if it is not ...

Ok. I don't want to sound nosy, but to avoid questions like these, you might want to update the guidelines about SIDs covering well-known tunes (Jarre, Bach, Madonna) to include tunes more known on other systems (e.g. Thanatos/Spectrum, Chuck Rock/Amiga, Out Run/arcade).

As a side note, there is more than a handful Commando remixes on RKO, despite it being based on the arcade version by Tamayo Kawamoto. Maybe they were received under old guidelines?
