In my book, Martin Walker probably did the best Amiga music cover ever with his Speedball 2 cover. I'm sure I could not tell the difference if the game loaded on an Amiga but a C64 played the music!
(and it's a nice tune too -- btw, is Nation XII a "real" group or only Amiga musicians?)

Re: Recommendations for a BIT Live / Sid rookie
Some girls like SID! They are out there. (It's true - I am one.) Heh. Exactly how introvert would it be to have "SID girl/Miss SID of the week"? I've found that women reaching into domains mostly frequented by men often are worshipped like godesses (even a plain girl seems like the most a...

OT: No arms
I've got a funny image of lots of sweds and danish pulling non exisitant arms :D A little off-topic, but yesterday when I visited my music shop to buy a MIDI-to-Joyport cable (brr, 199 SEK), the customer in front of me was a young girl around 10 years old. She and her dad bought her a trombone. Wel...

Re: *.c64.org downtime
I have taken out the disk itself (the actual magnetic media) from the old disk, and I'm currently trying to insert it into another casing with a controller and all that stuff. I thought that kind of operation was instant hard drive suicide, at least if the server disks were somewhat recent. Is it r...

Apart from playing the game to get some inspiration, you'd better read the instructions with its beautiful illustrations and breakdancing guides. I scanned + OCR:ed it a few years ago for the Epyx Shrine: http://home.arcor.de/cybergoth/gamese/breakmanual.html There also is a glossary, suitable if yo...

STIL (partially) recognizes six out of seven subsongs in Bard's Tale 1, but none in Bard's Tale II or III (maybe because noone has investigated them). As there seems to be rule of honour not to remix something which is a (known) cover, it may be interesting to first remix and then research after the...

I'm aware that SID chips have been fitted onto Plus/4, and there has been questions to do it to VIC-20 as well. Maybe someone has interfaced one of these sound chips onto a Commodore PET too, which makes it remotely relevant on a SID remixer's site. The PET can do a one-channel pulse wave from its V...

According to the member reviews on BUG Europe (http://www.bugeurope.com), Baggies seems to be miles ahead of Brighton Backpackers. One anonymous member posted this about the 75 Middle Street accomodation: This is the place to go if you want to catch bed bugs, buy drugs, witness care in the community...

Monty and .. Monty? Was Rob aware of this coincidence when he gained inspiration from the original tune? How about this chain of association and confusion: * Monty Mole (on the Run) by Gremlin Graphics * Monty Python (using the galop tune) * Dick Barton (special agent) * James Bond (also an agent, m...

A flat logo would look boring on its own. Probably. Maybe. I believe it boils down to how much faith you have in your logotype. Well-established ones like IBM, Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Dell etc seem to work on their own in 2D, but those are logotypes kept alive through all the years. Actually, I thoug...
