Re: Matt Gray "Reformation" Kickstarter
I took the level 5 in the end plus t-shirt and vinyl as well.
Really pleased that all 20 VIP places were already taken though - and if you're reading this Matt, my offer still stands for any sleeve notes you need writing

Re: Matt Gray Produced Box Set
I agree broadly on The Basement In Game. So many people love the atmosphere it creates for that level. From a personal point of view I was always pleased with the actual sounds used in that track. To get the big kick/tom that dominates the 1st half I found if I used a very low root note on a certai...

Re: Matt Gray Produced Box Set
I can't remember any commissioned tracks that didn't come out, though I can remember a few I never got paid for :x Thanks for nowt Hewson Consulants. :nonono: I didn't know they weren't so hot at paying people, and that's definitely not good. So they didn't give you anything for Maze Mania or Deliv...

Re: Matt Gray Produced Box Set
Dalali !! Of course. They were based in Croydon so I used to go into their office for production meetings. Can't remember the name of the lovely lady who was in charge, other than she was from India I think. Meanstreak was the game in question and straight away I can hear how rubbish the lead lines...

Re: Matt Gray Produced Box Set
It was Cnet that got me noticed first and provided my first paying commissions. The first was a bit of a disaster as the programmers re-coded my submission using their own player. Out the window went any vibrato routines and other modulation fx I'd used. I think I did two games for them (God what w...

Re: Matt Gray Produced Box Set
Matt, First of all, a pleasure to have you on board. Like so many of us here, we grew up admiring the Commodore 64 tunes you made. I can remember the likes of Jukebox 64 (both parts) and your Rockmonitor version of Rob's "Phantom of the Asteroids" on Compunet (which I got via a friend who ...

Re: Where do I actually GET the SID of this cracktro?
Okay folks, I've sorted it. Here goes: Intro tune 1 = /MUSICIANS/F/FCS/Neon_Nights.sid subtune #5 The subtune is by Rock but appeared in this demo which had tunes by FCS and Rock (more by FCS), hence it's in FCS's directory. It's also a hack into Ben Daglish's player, as the player code is the same,...

Re: USB C64 Joystick adapter (for emulator)
I ordered one of these myself, and they came over from Canada to the UK in the post very quickly and securely. Tried it with MAME and with WinVICE, and it's just so nice to be able to use a proper competition pro for most games, and the adjustable stick of the Cruiser for the likes of Track and Fiel...

Re: Help in using of XE1541 cable
But I also copied X1541Test utility on the CD which made to check compatibility between parallel port and XE1541 cable. This utility told me that my notebook's parallel port isn't compatible with the XE1541 cable. If you didn't already try it, the BIOS setting used to work best with the parallel po...

Re: Can somebody extract these tunes to a SID file please?
Now tell me, how did you know or remember where those loader tunes were? Looking under Electric Boys or Commodore Format Loader returned nothing and no wonder. It won't do. Purely because it was common practice for Electric Boys at the time to use tunes from demos (ie: in the public domain) for thi...

Re: Can somebody extract these tunes to a SID file please?
Unsurprisingly, they're already all in HVSC. Here's what all the tunes are with their HVSC paths: Side A: Dropzone Tapeloader - /MUSICIANS/F/Fanta/Sequenzer_Killer.sid Chaos Tapeloader - /MUSICIANS/P/PRI/No_Grammy.sid Chaos - /MUSICIANS/H/Hubbard_Rob/Crazy_Comets.sid Side B: Heavenbound Tapeloader -...

Re: New Back in Time Live - Sep 15th, Manchester
Bear in mind that the venue is actually in Oldham and not Manchester - there is a difference, you know. Anyway, a few things to bear in mind, especially if you're travelling from distance or even planning to stay in Manchester and commute there: The quickest buses from central Manchester are the 181...

Re: Pretty Hate Machine 8 Bit Style
I had a listen and I have to say for the two songs that he composed on SID, it was almost like he was trying too hard to cram everything in, and as a result it suffers somewhat. With other hardware he seems to be more in tune with what it can do and it's more about the composition instead, which is ...

Re: Cracktro Tune in Street Gang (C64) wanted
A long time ago I knew the name of the game where the Rasterbar-Intro/Cracktro music of the Game "Street Gang" were from. Due to OUT OF MEMORY error in my brain I cant remember it :duh: Checking all the cracked versions on CSDB, the HVSC paths to the original C64 SIDs are as follows: MCA ...
