Problem (need help)

Post by tas »

Ok i have a slow down problem with the web. It's not a provider problem as many webpages seem to work fine, but with complex data sites (Remix64 for example) i'm really struggling to do anything. Even typing this is a big problem as the characters are slow when typing.

As for the editor behind remix64 it's absolutely no go, so i'm guessing there's some shit on my computer whioch is throwing out errors, thus slowing down my ability to access the web properlly, thus i'm virtually unable to update remix64 :(

Does anyone know of a good program (in english) that may help solve my problem and regain my optimal speed back of accessing the web?

I really do not want to format my hard drive, unless i really need to, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Much to do at r64, but i am unable at the present :(

Thanks,
Neil

How about virus-scanning your machine?
Web-connected slowdowns are sometimes the result of a trojan horse, I suggest installing Symantec´s Norton Anti-Virus 2003.

...and by the way... have a try at lavasoft's ad-aware...
to keep those commercial buggers at bay...

btw, what was the right URL for downloading it, Vosla?
I think some domain-grabbers captured a domain with ad-aware in the name.

Vosla: everything is better than McAffee. I remember the day a scan-data update blocked all NT Workstations at work from logging on. Good to have ERD Commander when working as support-slave :-)

Here is a download link for the addy-software.
