Neither i am that much talented nor i have a stunning equipment. Just doing my thing and try something out every now and then. Like this time. Please dont care of the "composition"...
Just played around with some of the new features of "Renoise 2.5 (Beta)"!!!!11111 Imho a kick in the nuts of all the "Multi-Hundred-Dollar DAW's" around...
I am considering getting renoise now when it has rewire support so I can have the best of the 2 worlds
It would feel good to get back to the "roots" of music makeing with tracker

Better get it now because it will cost about 10 € more after the official release of Version 2.5

I just could never get to grips with Cubase or even FL Studio. I've looked at Renoise and downloaded the demo but haven't installed it yet.
I don't use any hardware, mainly VSTs and Highlife editor when I work with samples stuff so MED is pretty good for that. The only issue I have is the control over the VST instruments - there's no way to generate pitch slides or even control the volume effectively, but there are ways around that by using plugins such as SAVIhost or Midihost which allow you to load in your VST and then route it through internal midi ports (I use MidiYOKE for this) to make full use of the player commands.
I tried renaming the extension from MED to MOD but get a file error on loading.
Also tried saving from within MED to a Mid format but the file size is only 1k and it loads without error - only a completely blank song.
Renoise is rediculously good and if I can load my back catalogue of tracks in there - it's a no-brainer for purchase but I don't fancy rewriting all my other stuff into a new program for the second time this year.
I finally purchased Renoise as I've found a way to import MED Modules.
I cannot begin to express how impressive it is!!!!
I discovered the sample sync today, which changes the tempo of a loop/sample to match the song tempo automattically - awesome for syncing vocals in a track or when working with drum loops!
The VST automation is perfect and soooo simple to achieve.
