That takes your mind of it. Well, it does mine. I'd try for the first guitar, knowing I can run them on my PS2!

Well I got the guitar. And right this minute, sheer obsession dictates I get another, just for the Beatles box.

Haven't even got a 360. Though it'd look bloody good in a photograph. But nah.

Hmmm. Maybe Dumper's right and I risk being a junkshop Mr. Trebus anyway. (Though if you only realise that now Mr. Bond, you're too late.)

Well I don't know about that. Certainly Ebay would like me to buy own my Laserdiscs back.

That would mean owning them twice, at the same time.

Look at what you get. Then look at the price.

Might be nice to see some upper levels without putting your back out.

And a sequencer just for the Hero guitars?

Image
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-And-Seale ... fresh=true

I'll give it a go. I adore my studio oddities.

And I forgot Rock Band actually.

I might be on another Sony binge this month. God job I've already bought my presents.

Well if I've got anything 3D, you're welcome to it. I never saw any 3D in anything, probably because I wear spectacles.

But at least this sold:

Only went for loose change but it's nice to know a good home may await it.

Now to see the rest of my useless cra.., er, lovely stock slowly sell away.

I wonder if anyone actually ever used the breadbin C64 as an actual breadbin? :)

Well if you like stale bread then go for it.

Just as practically pointless are projects turning Hero controllers into MIDI axes.

Having tried the World Tour sequencer, playing them under studio conditions aren't that fantastic. It's only a crippled, clumsy keytar. But the novelty value's through the roof.

It works best with the console preset sounds anyway (which could be easily Melodyned), so I would question why people haven't demanded MIDI in for external control. Which you have on the drum set, channel 10: http://www.guitarherorepair.com/use_e_d ... controller

And there's the actual MIDI guitar for the PS3, for halfway house.

Mind you, features abound the Hero sequencer, like pitch bend, trick chord sounds, scale selections and note edit. Best thing I could do for myself is make a Kontakt pack and play my real MIDI axe, though I'd miss a fun trick the strum switch and lever together can throw. (And what fun could I have with other licks from the games?)

And to use the drums, you don't even need a software go-between for the MIDI out, unless a realtime channel changer: http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2010/ ... ontroller/

Limited use, but there we go. Pleasure enough in the retro room, old consoles as drumboxes.

Well I don't suppose there's any mad rush. I've a feeling Hero will be around for long to come yet. Not that the controllers are very expensive now.

Image

And some people really are taking the controllers seriously aren't they.

Image
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peak-Starpex- ... 2ec79ed65d

Be they more responsive than the usual ones and I may take them up on this.

Image

I think last time music toy add-ons were this exciting was back when the Commie ruled the roost.

And they've upgraded Rocksmith. Looks like I've much to greet me when PS3s finally hit the charity shop.

My god, £2.72: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rocksmith-201 ... 7046980%26

Meantime, I want the Rickenbacker in a box:

Image
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PS3-The-Beatl ... 19e5d15e47

Though even I don't think I'll go for the Ringo drums. But it would complete the collection of flimsy Fab toys.

Sounds reasonable:

I don't think I will get married. I'd have to pay more bills instead.

And as a PS, I Google'd around for homebrew Guitar Hero sample sets. I wonder why there aren't any......

Though I did find this guy who says he uses a Guitar Hero axe with a sampler.

Interesting. Toys got serious. But I had to leave a comment though, about audio-MIDI conversion from the Playstation because this guy doesn't actually say what he uses.
