So who got the "Back in Time 2" CDs then? I'm wondering
if most of the first 50 entrants already had the CD...!

OK, after all, there's still one question not answered:

Thomas D., what exactly are you "showing" here? Size does matter, believe me!

GREAT night! it was really a lot of fun! i was a little bit sad that i didn't had the time to talk to all the people i wanted to talk with because i had to work. but i enjoyed playing c64-remixes in a disco, it was a great experience.

greetings and thanx to these nice people: volker, detlef könig, andre, marcel donné, jan zottmann, markus schneider, stefan hartwig, thomas detert, 2klang and alex
Markus Schneider wrote: Arvid for playing great (and sometimes a bit too loud) stuff  Where the hell you did find that ? Good job !
too loud? impossible?
all tracks were selected from R:K:0 and the available remix-cds.
Rafael Dyll wrote: - They only played *ONE* track from our CD! What a disappointment!
you're right, rafael. there were two problems for me. first: i got the cd very late in the evening. second: for me, the tracks didn't seem to "fit" to be played in a disco.
putzi wrote:Well, I think the DJ played far too much Hülsbeck´s commercial stuff.
i think i played 4 or 5 tracks from chris hülsbeck-cds. is that really too much in 5 hours?
besides that: a lot of people asked me to play turrican-remixes!
btw: the playlist is coming soon because some people asked for it.
putzi wrote: LMan should feel honoured, DJ played 3 of his Turrican-remixes ;-)
yes, because i like his work a lot! 8)
putzi wrote: And besides, I got the feeling the DJ took guidance in my SixtyFour Megamixes tracklists, part 1 to 3, hehe! :-)

sorry, i don't know your megamixes!

photos of the event coming soon!

good night!

I believe you, but it was the same stiuff, al being older than 1,5 years. The only new tracks I noticed were Sonic´s OL2 remix and DHS Apidya. Everything else a little old.....

That's why it's called a retro-party...

If you consider playing old remixes of a living retro-scene is actually only retro if there is dust on the remixes itself, we have two definitions of "retro".

Hehe, Putzi, it was just a little joke with that too often used "retro"-word...8)

After half an hour I gave up trying to identify every remix, because as I mentioned before, I only heard boom-boom-boom (and damn, i still do!!) in almost any case...
So i didn't care how old the remixes were. A remix is a remix.
Maybe if my ears were highend-ones I would share your opinion.:)

Cheers,

After all, I don´t care too much about the music played, I wanted to meet all the remixers and C64-remix-fans in Wedel and it happened. And even the Gods of demo-creation from Farbrausch showed up, which was another unexpected highlight :-)

I had already spoken to DRF that i thought most of the CD wasn't Disco type of stuff, so i'm not too suprised about that. Tho i'm strangely curious why Shades was picked over Gianlucca's work, as especially Tales of Boon would fit into any disco if ya like Rock music.

Actually, Remix64 volume 1 would have been a better choice for this type of disco effect, especially the two tunes from Glyn, and the DHS tune.

One thing i have noticed through this thread is that the music seemed to be specifically aimed at the German audience. Sponse since it was held in germany then maybe ;)

Neil, Volker, Arvirus,

The problem from my point of view is that I don't understand why then the CD has hyped to be presented at the meet (even on the poster!).

You knew that the stuff to be played was disco stuff from the start. There was supposed to be a presentation of the tunes - maybe a medley mix would have been interesting. We had a DJ there to do that.

Also, to be honest, I didn't see *anybody* dancing. My girlfriend was concerned about this. There was even a period where Arvirus played slower stuff. That could have been the part where Vol2 would have made sense.

I may have made a fool of myself promoting the CD and the Remix64 site on TV whilst the CD was not presented. It was a shame I think.

The event was fun, but it would have been the cherry on the cream for me after 7 hours of driving (back and forth), to hear our work and see/hear responses from our community.

Actually hardly anyone ever dances at these things, though at BIT Live
2 and 3 there were a couple of wild girlies to tempt people onto the dance
floor. At BIT Live 4 there will be very little emphasis on dancing,
though of course the music after the concert will still be club remixes.
Luckily during the daytime the choice of music can be more eclectic.

Hey DRF, next time some Go-Go Girls which motivates the guests to dance...

btw. As the music changed to the so called 80ties music(no kraftwerk,
DM, New Order...),mostly mainstream, some people start to dance...
