Re: Jan Hammer lead instrument...

While at work today... I also remembered, there was a Game on the Amiga that had that Bell sound.. which you could probably use.. but it would be lower quality. Yeah - Wasn't it 'F14 Simulator', or something like that? It's on the 'Top Gun' (film) soundtrack too, which is the reason they used it in...

Re: Jan Hammer lead instrument...

When was it released? 1985... My money's on it being a Yamaha DX7 patch, so try Native Instrument's FM7 vst. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Jul02/articles/nifm7.asp If you're a poor bugger (like me) try the free DSDXI2 or Synth 1 (both have FM functions). Either of those should be able to make it w...

Re: Tracking, we're Tracking...

That must have been some kinda SLOW PC, BTW. I used to run DS1 on a 500mhz PC with the latency at 20ms! I think it was like the first pc I even had and that was a pentium 120mhz with like 128mb ram or something LOL  LOL! My first PC had a Cyrix 100mhz processor. It would stutter if I pl...

Re: Tracking, we're Tracking...

Playing "Belong" sent my CPU performance to 94% - 100% and a bit of clipping. This is my 2Ghz, Compaq Persario. That's not normal - it's around 50% on my Athlon 2100 with 1GB of RAM. Do me a favour and send me a PM stating your soundcard, ASIO settings etc. Also, could you try a r...

Re: Tracking, we're Tracking...

Trackers is good, and dreamstation has some special sound :D I tryed Dreamstation1 a few years ago, it was verry cpu intensive, though I did not have a fast cpu back then lol :D DSDXI2 has indeed got a very special sound to it. It's the only synth I know which can make a classic C64 PWM lead with 3...

LOL! That's just because I am a beta tester and Jeroen gave his permission for the S&S remix. I don't make any money from it, sadly.

Re: Tracking, we're Tracking...

Don't quite see the point of using old sk00l tracker beside the piano roll editing. I thought exactly the same thing when I first tried it, but after a few sessions I was instinctively flicking between the two editing methods like I'd been working that way forever! Some things are just much quicker...

Re: I have a cold and I'm tired of it.

It's not just us - it's a worldwide phenomenon. Over-use of antibiotics has impaired our ability to heal as nasty bugs become more and more resistant.

We're all doomed...

On a positive note - I've just been to Pizzahut!

Re: Anniversary Show Feedback

OK, check out these 2 examples. http://www.monotron.co.uk/suba.mp3 is a snippet from the show 'as is' with no limiter applied. http://www.monotron.co.uk/subb.mp3 is the same snippet, but with a hard limiter effect applied. You can hear how the vocals are about the same level, but there is a vast dif...
