Re: Arpeggios in Sids

Thinking about it , I might revisit my original idea of "Listening" to memory locations in something like vice. The problem with arps is that they are often an internal function and only the base note is in the note data to trigger the arp sequence so a lot of visualizers show only that. If I can fi...

Re: Arpeggios in Sids

actually .... Thanks for reminding me about SidDump .. I started writing a tool to visualize the dump in python but got busy at work and forgot about it.. I think I need to look at it again. I'll check out DeepSid, I think I did find it once but didn't know it had a piano view. But I think that hard...

Re: Bombo (Vocal mix)

It will never sound "natural" or "more human". Nor was it supposed to - that's not what it is for! It provides a unique vocal effect and it's very good at that (especially for its price). My only problem with it is that when you start using it for English lyrics (rather than, say, gibberish), my br...

Bombo (Vocal mix)

Hi My Bombo vocal remix was quite well received on KWED and I'd like to thank all those who supported it but.. A couple of people have commented on the vocoder bits (rightly so) and the fact that its difficult to disticly hear the lyrics and that they sound unnatural. I agree with this absolutley bu...

Arpeggios in Sids

Hi All I'm after a little help/guidance from some of the more seasoned remixers here (or anyone who has something to offer really) I have a problem working out arpeggios in sid music. For example, I'm currently trying to work out the title music for Chimera by Rob Hubbard. I think I can work out the...

Re: New SID to MIDI conversion tool

I'll Git a new version at some point and try it out.

My knowledge of midi is not as extensive as yours by the looks of things so I might have some quizzies.

Re: New SID to MIDI conversion tool

Cool! I agree that the 64bit version probably doesn't have any major benefit (That I can think of at least) As for the naming of the instruments, for myself personally, I prefer to do that in FL studio as the name is overwritten when I replace the midi track with a VST, but someone else might like t...

Re: New SID to MIDI conversion tool

"Hey, cool. You're a Pascal (Delphi) programmer?" Yeah .. We're a dying breed mate :P "f you're reading the source code, I apologise for the general lack of comments. I'm still getting to that... " No Probs, I'm not one to judge, a lot of the time comments are pointless and people dont bother to rea...

Re: New SID to MIDI conversion tool

Hi M3Wp This sounds great, I wrote my own tools that "listen" to the sid memory locations in Vice and control my DAW through LoopBE but there are obvious drawbacks to this approach such as no real midi noteOff's and tempo sync'ing problems. Really looking forward to trying your converter. Any idea h...
