Maybe they should be moved above the box, so they're more prominent...

Previews

Just wondering if small previews will be available on Amiga Remix, like on RKO. It's good to be able to check out a tune snippet before committing to downloading 5-10Mb.

Re: Rating systems ideas

Paul Vanukoff wrote:Currently I'm thinking about letting visitors rate each song (on a scale from 0 to 10 or 0 to 100).
Why not use the same scale as R64, if the sites are going to be (partially) integrated anyway?

Cheers! I know what the demon stress is like. I also promise to now stop doing impressions of Kati c. 1988, too. :)

Hey, dude, apologies if I came across as rude--the post was meant to be light-hearted. I guess I should start using the emoticons a bit more. Sorry for any offence--none was intended.

Actually, I'd go slightly further, and combine the members pages, interviews, especially the latter, as people often worked across both platforms. One thing that might be a good idea is to start using logos on the combined pages, saying whether something is based on C64, Amiga, or both. (i.e. a litt...

I would combine the editorial and community, but keep the remixes themselves separate (i.e. separate charts and voting for C64 and Amiga) otherwise the site could end up like some front-end to overclocked. Combining relatively small communities is an excellent idea though. Also, it's good to see thi...

Nyaaaaaa! Window focus

Is it me, or has a onLoad="window.focus() only just been added to the forum? Please, please, please, please, please get rid of the damn thing! I like to open up multiple threads from the index when using this sort of forum, but the focussing makes them pop-up arbitrarily whenever the page has f...

Hey Glyn--thanks for the kind words! "The Crossing" has proved popular, and I guess its Vangelis leanings would be welcomed by quite a few people at R64. It's certainly one of my favourites from my work collection, although it's scary to think about the kit that was used to make the piece ...

For example does a musician look at the feel of a piece of music, or does he try to check out it's technical imperfections? now, would a good musician down-rate this piece cos it has a floors? would a listener even know that it has floors? Sometimes things just 'feel' wrong and a non-musician can s...

To be honest... I think the best reviewers are non musicians. I'm not sure I agree. Musicians can put a different spin on things that comes from their experience, and one doesn't have to waffle on about technical details (I'm a musician, and most of my reviews focus on the feel of the piece). To my...

Tom--yeah, but also you'd get to play with the rockin' SidPlay for OS X, which is _very_ nice! :)

Well, there are some odd reviews in there; in some cases people are rating average or good, but saying the remix is bad. In my book, average is average (I'm one of the old school 5/10 = average and not bad!) As for reviews in general, I aim to write more, but I doubt there'll be many very negative o...

Tom--yes, Safari requires Mac OS X.2 to run, like most new Mac software. By the sounds of it, you'll have to upgrade sooner or later. All new Adobe software is rumoured to be X only, and MS already only releases X-only applications.
