I think Activision actually did a different version, a couple of years ago, with more of a gamepad design and a number of Activision titles. My top 10 Atari VCS games would probably be: Demon Attack Keystone Kapers Warlords Cosmic Ark Adventure Pitfall Pitfall 2 Combat Enduro Ms. Pac Man Anyone trie...

.cust files can be played in DeliPlayer. I agree with you -- the Battle Squadron game-over music is superb; I've loved it since I first heard it back in '89 or so. Another great tune -- which I've been unable to find an original Amiga file for -- is the opening song from Hybris. Hybris and Battle Sq...

Gear? We don't need no stinkin' gear... :) I have a $150 Yamaha keyboard, a cheap Radioshack mike, and a pair of headphones. That's about it for gear. I don't even use the keyboard much except to diddle with tunes and figure out the chords etc. I find myself writing the music directly into the seque...

Fruityloops for me. The Sonar demo is intriguing, though. Problem is I haven't figured out how to make soundfonts work with it.

Congratulations Mahoney! In my opinion you've helped bring C64 remixing to a whole new level. :)

Tried Confuzion, couldnt make it work, had a go at the Ultima tune, and I'm having trouble with the rythm. See, did I mention I wasnt a very good guitarist? It's a weird rhythm in the first section because the melody seems to come in a half-beat before the accompaniment -- it's offset a bit. I wrot...

There are several I'd like to try -- Hybris, Battle Squadron, Sinbad & the Throne of the Falcon, and several tunes from Faery Tale Adventure. I don't feel up to the task just yet. I don't know, of course, how the more experienced remixers feel...

There's lots of good game music though. I know almost nothing about the Amiga demo scene (except a few tunes from years back), but I can still think of a lot of music that could use remixing.

You tantalize me with your talk of all this great demo music, though. Where can I find it?

I couldn't predict whether people will be motivated to make Amiga remixes or not, but I think it could happen. Maybe not as many as C64 remixes, but, for instance, I'd love to see good acoustic-instrument versions of the Faery Tale tunes, and who knows what the more "out there" remixers (a...

I can't tell you what would work best on guitar, but I do think there are some good C64 composers that tend to get ignored in favor of the Hubbard/Galway canon. :) Dave Warhol, while not a sidmaster in the Galway/Hubbard sense (his arrangements aren't that interesting), was a very good composer who ...

Weird. So it's like a regular keyboard, and midi keyboard, rolled into one? And it looks like there's a little pitch-bend wheel on the side?

Hey, glad to hear you're grappling with the Fist II tunes -- I love them. Don't worry too much about being rejected... happened to me too (see my "rejected!" thread in Arrangers/Composers). :) I never finished Fist II -- it was too bleedin' hard! I loved the idea of it though, expanding th...

Ultima 3 mix -- judge me! :-)

If any of you have downloaded my Ultima III mix, I'd love to hear your criticisms -- just don't be too nasty. :) I was happy with it at first but the more I listen to it the weaker it seems. One problem I think is the arrangement doesn't really sound "orchestral" -- except for a few bits (...
