No, that's still old skool over here too. Basically, UK Hardcore is essentially the less sugary version of Happy Hardcore, or what basically happy hardcore degraded too, mixing further elements of trancecore and freeform. So yeah, anything in that area, lol. Whatever, name a tune that would fit hard...

Actually I find that the tempo usually hovers around 150 to 180 bpm. 140 bpm sounds like normal hard house or trance, maybe hardstyle and breaks. And the way you described it, there's a whole swath of other genres that go by that method. But I don't make myt tracks that way.

UK Hardcore

Well, I'm on my way to completing 3D Galaxy theme tune for the ST, and I'm only being worked up. Any suggestions for c64 music that would sound good transmorphed into UK Hardcore?

banjos + slow arpeggios = sound very bad.

fingered bass as bass drops is not a good thing to use.

The other sounds are fine. I think a synthetic arpeggio is needed for that banjo-line.

Suggestion, have the kick more subtle and refrain from delaying the hihats. They just sound too loud. They chop up the sound of the song which is not good. There is also a synth there that has some high feedback on the phaser - change the wet/dry down on it. It will give a nice rawer sound and not s...

Just to offer a little help here, as I did play the crash and suspended cymbal in band, but I must say the cymbals are too hot. They really hamper the balance there. They should be a lot more subtle but what you have it sounding like the cymbals are in front of the orchestra and not in the back.
