Re: is this a cover of a cover ?!
Delta is not a cover or a remix of that tune: that's just "the accepted wisdom" (which is too often wrong). Rob's piece was "inspired by", and apart from chord similarity is a separate piece of music in its own right. Take that from someone who's bothered to analyse both pieces ...

Judge Dredd
working on my second remix (started yesterday) and I'm stuck. One problem is that the original SID is very short, there's very little of going on, just the same part repeating and a "funky ending" and then restart. Current state: just initial recording and testing. Drums are just placehold...

Re: My first C64 remix
Here's a beta of the new remixed version of Human Race #4:
Human Race #4 (Maccie Pimp-Me-Up Mix beta)
In my headphones and pc-speakers the organ seems to be a little too loud but I trust Maccie's ears and speakers are a lot better than mine.

Re: My first C64 remix
... and this is why people mostly submit to RKO too early: any piece will be better if you either get proper beta-testing or even leave it for a month or two and come back to it with fresh ears. But remixers are so excited they often prematurely ejaculate their work into the public domain... of cou...

Re: My first C64 remix
I rar'ed the entire project folder and sent it to a friend of mine in Norway who's a much better musician than I ever was and asked him if he could do anything. Got a first test today and wow, it sounds completely different. He replaced the bass & sorted out the drums as well as changed the mix ...

Re: Human race - here ya go
Nice arrangement... except for one thing.. the arpeggiated melody sound is kinda annoying and makes the thing sound somewhat out of tune (not to mention it's a little annoying overall that sound). Otherwise it's a soft take on it.

Re: Open links in new window/tab?
Funny, I just press the middle mouse button (wheel actually) when I want to open a link in a new tab in Firefox. I didn't even know it was possible to create a setting that makes links open in new tabs/windows without rewriting every single link?

Re: "Remix"-compo?
I think a time frame of two months would be required to gather enough entries. Also, having some sort of "interest"-poll or similar to see how many would be willing to spend some time creating an entry. Not too loose and not too firm.

Kettle - how much should I "butcher" it?
I've been browsing with sidplay2/win the last couple of days listening to old favorites as well as new stuff and during my long stay in the Daglish-folder (I always stay there longer than in most other folders) I came upon the classic superfunky and fat bluesy Kettle (sub #1). I figured I'd do that ...
