Re: C64 Emulator 4 iPhone - the wait is over!
Well they actually did get the appropriate licensing for the games and I do give them credit for that.

Re: C64 Emulator 4 iPhone - the wait is over!
I'm a bit sceptical of this developer. Instead of making the appropriate changes and resubmitting when their app got rejected they made a ruckus about it. And after making the changes, they manage to leave in the one thing preventing their app from being accepted in the first place. Apple has (surpr...

Re: Recording yourself while making a tune
Not quite what I promised but this video does show my general sequencing process of record/edit/layer. It's general MIDI so the sounddesign/production technique is absent. But it gives you the idea.
cheers.

Re: Just watch these two guys in action..... AMAZING TALENT !!!!
The loop station is a Boss RC-50 . There is also a (Roland?) effects station you see him depressing the expression pedal on to add delay and apply other effects. One last beatboxer vid I'd like to mention is this Julia Dales one, she's beatboxing without a mic covering her mouth. Two observations: 1...

Re: Just watch these two guys in action..... AMAZING TALENT !!!!
I've seen Jeremy Ellis's stuff before, definite talent. Hadn't seen that beat-boxer before (there's a lot of them nowadays!) but he's got down pretty well. I personally have to give it up to dubfx, which is just one man with a mic and a loop machine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiInBOVHpO8 Also t...

Re: SIDPLAY/Mac 4.0 released
Great update. I've learned a lot of Cocoa programming this year so I'm familiar with the challenge of developing an application to meet the high usability standards of the Mac platform. You've done an ace job and this RKO/Remix64 integration is a fantastic addition.
cheers.

Re: Neuromancer: 25 years later
I never read Neuromancer or got into the cyberpunk thing but after reading that article it piques my curiosity -- even if its influence may be overstated. Perhaps I'll add it to my reading list.

Re: What kind of chord change is this?
The change is Cmin to Bmaj. The melody uses the lydian mode of the B.
I can give further detail, just let me know.

Re: PEEK (788)
If I understand that right, that POKE changes the low byte of the interrupt vector to 0. There's a 1 in 256 chance it will do nothing, the rest of the time it'll execute whatever random data it happens to find at the new address every 50th or 60th of a second. I don't have an emulator handy but inde...

Re: Recording yourself while making a tune
I could give it a go. There are zero decent screen capture softwares for Mac that are free, but I had already plunked down for one to demonstrate my own music software. To be honest I couldn't sit through all of Mordi's videos (but what I saw was interesting!), I think I would abridge mine. Narratio...

Re: Why are the Youtube C64 showoffs so damn LAZY?
I'm not saying there was nothing to see, just that for what there was the videos were overlong, lazy, boring and repetitive. I hear that, and I do think your criticisms are valid. The blogs I frequent like MatrixSynth , Synthtopia and CreateDigitalMusic post a fair share of video content which can ...

Re: Why are the Youtube C64 showoffs so damn LAZY?
While I couldn't sit through all the videos, I did enjoy the tweaking and grunginess. I'm glad to have seen these rather than see nothing, even if more could be done.
Cool overture demo with the FM expansion, though!

Re: So what's your approach to C64 music making?
Oh that's quite a setup!
I've been learning machine language for the C64 and I'm currently trying to write an arpeggiator but it's all emulated at the moment; I can't find the power supply for my C64, among other things
