Re: Last C64 Game You Played?
A great choice, and it still holds up today. I find I need a USB gamepad / joystick to handle the "action" parts of the game, though.Vosla wrote:M.U.L.E.

Re: age distribution and home computers
Yup, same story here, except that my first home computer was a VIC-20. I used my VIC-20 and C64 for many things other than just gaming (word processing, print shop, education) and never really thought of it as just a game console with a keyboard. I would never have traded in the multi-purpose C64 fo...

No, that's great info - I'd never heard of "lydian mode" before, learned something new.analoq wrote:The change is Cmin to Bmaj. The melody uses the lydian mode of the B.
I can give further detail, just let me know.

What kind of chord change is this?
The change right about at the 1 minute mark from the music preceding it is something I really like in this and different songs, what is is called, if anything?

Re: Thinking of doing an "audio book" recording - music ideas?
Indeed, Vosla! I PM'd Chris but thought you might be curious as to those I'm thinking of running with in my first story. I could rotate these around in a couple of novella sized stories, especially if I loop and have silent BG spots. If Jogeir Liljedahl is OK with it, then I think we may be ready fo...

Re: Last C64 Game You Played?
Infamous, I just noticed you did music for the Armalyte remake, too (yeah, I'm slow with some news apparently!). I need to check that out -- is that what you're playing, or the original? I've been on Phantasie II and Below the Root. Wrote articles on both: http://c64walkabout.com/2009/08/04/its-stra...

Wow, I'm awestruck.
For a layman like me it would be even better if you had a mic to record your voice and comment on what you are doing...it all goes so fast!

Re: Thinking of doing an "audio book" recording - music ideas?
Thanks Chris, but since those are commercial I'm guessing I couldn't just use them freely, right? Even if it is just BG music and relatively muted compared to the spoken word track, I don't want to use it unless I have permission from the artists. That said, I just previewed Zoids Ancestors tunes by...

Thinking of doing an "audio book" recording - music ideas?
I've written several stories and novels set in a Sci-Fi world with a Fantasy feel, and I've been bringing them to a blog and posting them up for free reading while writing more. Anyway, I want to try my hand at reading one of the stories using the limited skills I've picked up with C64 broadcasting,...

Of course I'm an awful guy to comment since I was just so happy that you actually did the remix. I can't connect to the link, though - did you take it down?

The no internet thing - huge. How was a game like this: http://tinyurl.com/men5od supposed to thrive without the ability to share files beyond your schoolmates who may or may not have had the same computer? Even E-mail is so yesterday, man. I'm an awful letter writer -- so glad for Facebook....now I...

Re: I got married and heres the proof :)
Congrats Subby! I'll throw in a photo of my wife and I in Japan not long before we were married ourselves nigh 16 years ago... I think we were in an American-themed bar, which is about the only place I wouldn't drink Sapporo instead.... http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/8190/45691061689553474156301...
