The Sanxion Collective

Post by Schlicky »

Thought it was a catchy name myself. Was wondering if Chris was interested in doing a CD that was purely new mixes of Sanxion or music inspired by Sanxion. Personally the Loader Tune is my all time favourite.

You could then move onto other 'Collectives'

Any thoughts ?

Nice to see some ideas :)

Might be a bit tedious to listen to for an hour though...

Funny you should say that. I've had this copy of an old e-mail sitting in a memo on my Palm m515 for ages:

"Just had an idea, actually.... How about a Sanxion Maxi/EP with the *very* best stuff on it ?

Track 1: Sanxion (original SID mix)
Track 2: Thalamusic (Rob Hubbard Zzap Megatape mix)
Track 3-??: Sanxion (?? mix)"

Ideally such a project would have to set (and priced) in the single CD range (i.e. max. 5 ukp perhaps).

There have been various singles that come close to 80 minutes including only mixes of the title song, right now I can think of something from Micheal Jackson or The Shamen and 20 Fingers - when the remixes are sufficiently different enough, that format works really well.

The thing is that there are a LOT of Thalamus games and tracks from those games available that could be used that could warrant an album if the interest was there and it was viable for release.

Sanxion could provide a title track, Delta could offer a title, in-game and hi-score, Hawkeye could provide a title track, there could be the Armalyte titles and straight away you have six different tracks...

A full length album doesn't seem to difficult in terms of variety to me!!

* sigh * well, OK, as a bonus CD perhaps!

I remember announcing this as a joke product, incidentally, some time back. Someone apart from Schlicky tried to order it :) It was called "24 Sanxion and Delta Mixes" or something.

Should teach you not to have joke products on "sale", shouldn't it? ;)
