I liked how Phil Fuldner did a techno mix of, what was it, "Feinde greifen an" I think. He didn't really add much, showing that the music itself is timeless. The remix was called "The Final" and the video showed nothing but scenes from "Captain Future".

I also remember wanting to learn to play violin after watching too much of Oliver Maass. :)

Yeah, right, I've got that "The Final" Maxi-CD. Was a top ten hit here in Germany I think, great track. And two different videos, both with some different outtakes from the tv-serial... 8)

btw, the TV-series: it was actually very boring and simple, and the childish Japanese animation: holy shit! Not to forget that the German version was censored.

Captain Future is boring???
That's pretty wrong IMHO and I have to contradict emphatically!!!

It rocked big time and still does!
For being a children-series it isn't that childish, although they indeed ripped violent scenes out for the german screen (and nonviolent ones too :( ).
But the whole story(!)telling with it's (pseudo-)scientific background differs much from other SF-series of those days, like "Masters of the universe" or "Bravestarr", where always the good guys meet the bad guys and beat them in a final lasergun fight. That's boring!
In contrast to those, the CF-series, which is based on the CF pulp-magazin-series by Edmond Hamilton (definitively not intended for children), has really nice stories.
For the TV-series, every story was divided into 4 episodes à 25 min. So one story has 100 minutes. That's movie-format! (in germany they cut it to 75 min (3 episodes) )

Some episodes don't even have a real happy-end, which in today's children-series is quite unimaginable, because it could confuse the little kid's mind... :?

OK, without Christian Bruhn's soundtrack, something really important would be missing, but it's there and as a whole the series works quite well.

Btw, they are showing it again these days in germany, starting off at 9.2.2003 (0:10 h - not really the best time for children ;) ), but you can only watch it if you own german pay-tv.

Cheers,
Captain Monty

That´s a high price, owning Pay-TV just to watch CF.
what was the price for KirchMedia? 1,7 Mrd Euro?
I thought it is enough to be simply subscribed to Premiere to watch it?

SCNR ;-)

I have to agree with Monty, there is nothing, absolutely nothing boring with CF. It was exciting, and if I watch it nowaday the stories are still fascinating and thrilling. :)

Of course there are situations you have to grin, but that's the special charm of it...

So if you think it's boring, putzi, just pornolize it!

hehe, you got me :D
But wasn't it you who bought that Patrick-Pacard vinyl-record for 12,50 Euro?

Then you can surely understand that 1,7 Mrd Euro are nothing if you are a real Captain Future-addict!

If I was such an addict as you, I needed to buy record company "EMI Germany". They´re surely not a bargain ;-)

And for heaven´s sake:
"PATRIK PACARD" without the "c" in "Patrik"

Not bad! In fact, less boring than Phil Fuldner´s "The Final".
