Remix64 Messageboard - Thumbs

Post by Condor »

Is it possible for me as users to view thumbnails instead of regular sized pictures.
I'm a dial up user so browsing through 'Post your photo'' makes it difficult 'cause it laod every single picture .

Any solutions to this problem?

Thanks.

Branko.

It may be possible via some kind of Plugin or Hack for phpBB. I run a board using vBulletin and I've run into the same problem/request from members. And same thing there is no feature to allow it.

I can't see an automated solution for that.
Maybe we should use URL links instead of IMG tags, so you have just a list of links to choose from. But automated thumbnails? :?
All is lost.

You can generally switch the automatic displaying of pictures off in the Internet Options. Then when you are on the "Post your photo" page, you can right-click each picture you want to see and choose "Show pic" from the menu.

Does this help?

Sorry for being late...
Yep, that si the rpoblem, especialy with dialup users. And imagin what is like to watch (for example) 5 pictures with 1200+ pixels in resolution with not so good compression on a 1024x768 screen.
First, It last forever, second, I cant' see the whole thing, unless I stop the page & do the reload picture option - one by one.

Hm, it seems that does Internet options don't worjk in Firefox ommoroca. Or I need to restart browser (which is not possible rigth now). We'll see.

Nope, that didn't help...

I doubt there is plugin for Firefox. I'm doomed.

If you are using FireFox go into

Tools -> Options -> Content (Tab) and Uncheck "Load images Automatically"

Look at the diagram below.
