Guitar chords

Post by tomsk »

This was an idea touted a while back by Chris (If memory serves). A collection of C64 tunes with chord backing.
After hearing Stuck in da 80's at BIT5, I tried to figure the chords for the 'Arcade Classics' middle section that they played so well. Here they are (you can play along to the tune if you mute channel 4 - the samples at time 1:43)

Am, Em, Am, Em, G, D, C, F, D
Am, Em, Am, Em, G, D, C, F, D
G, D, Am
G, D, Am
G, D, Am
G, D, Am

Repeat first set.
Not being the greatest guitar player in the world, can anyone else finish this ? I've got some, but not all.

Just a thought......

Those chords look incredibly familiar. In fact, I have them on my cheat sheet I used on the night :D I had them written down because I'm not as sharp as I used to be. Also, I'm not as sharp as I used to be

What would you like to know? Are you looking for the chords that the guitar is playing after the middle bit?

Yeah Marcel - if you were playing 'em they must be okay !

I'd just like to try the next few bars if you know the chords, could you post them. The performance was brilliant BTW, and I'm really glad the HD buggered up, just so I could here it again !! :)

If anyone else has chords for tunes then perhaps setting up a section with-in R64 could be the go. It would help rookie mixers like myself, and maybe encourage people to remix tunes they would normally not try.

What about it ? Do people think this would be a worthwhile addition to R64 ?

It's a good idea (yet another one that I was planning for the as-yet-non-existent C64Audio.com site revamp). Difficult to see where it would fit in, though, or how Markus would get the time either.

Coming in at 220 lbs (or 105 kg) it's more of a CS-Weighty ;)

Will check out Arcade Classics in a bit.

All I can offer is the guitar backing I did to Knucklebusters. Wait for the sweepy intro ,and the main melody to kick in and its:

(count the bars)

Em Em g a
Em Em g a
Em Em g a
Em Em g a
(repeat twice)

C C D D
(repeat 3 times)
C C A(add9) A(add9)

the A(add 9) sounds nice here.

Can't remember the rest, but its easy to play hubbard - sounds like a title for a music book! :)

yeah, those old monsters called instruments aren't easy to move quickly...

i'm happy to own a Fender Rhodes MKII, which i used in my last remix, so
i know what it's mean to move a real instrument.... :D
