Firefox and Win 7

Post by dan gillgrass »

So I was offline for an age and updated to Win 7 and then installed Firefox... problem is Firefox seems to take an age to connect to a site and then often errors off.... soon as I press retry it loads the site straight away... it's also really slow at loading images from sites...

anyone else had this problem?

running firefox 3.6.3 and Windows Home Premium

First off Dan, welcome back to the online world. Yaay! :) You'll have to tell me next weekend the whole story of being offline...

Having used Windows 7 on some work machines with Firefox, I didn't notice any of the slowdowns that you've mentioned. Mind you, I had the 32-bit version of Windows 7, and if your version is the 64-bit one, Firefox may not perform so well as there's no native 64-bit coded version yet.

I have found version 3.5 to be more stable than 3.6 for various reasons, and so try 3.5.9 here:

Let us know how you get on.
