Hmmm, I know that the issue is constantly on everybody's mind, but since RKO is down, I do not have many clues on what to vote on. Not that I'm completely clueless - but since I don't want to forget anybody by mistake... How about posting a list of ALL the C64 remixes from 2003? Does anyone have such a list?

... and how about some suggestions - as in "nominees" in a more or less objective sense...
(this is impossible if people start discussing eachother's suggestions, so let's NOT do that, ok?)

Just go to the charts here on R64 and sort the entries by date... That should show you everything that has been released in 2003...

Ah, good idea with the list. Made me remember the ones I wanted to vote for. RKO being down and my HD crashing, bringing all the remixes I had with it to hell, made it really hard to remember which ones rocked the most. But the list did the trick.

Oddly, there are very few tunes from that list that are still on my hard drive. For me, I guess 2003 wasn't the best year for C64 remixes. However, two standouts:

Lagerfeldt: Rock my 64 and Robocop in particular are accomplished productions that are both very polished and listenable. For me, he'd come second to-

Trauma: Only one release credited to just him, but I'm a Pumpkin Man remains my favourite C64 remix of '03 and strongly challenges the likes of Abbott's Delta for best C64 remix ever; it's fun, catchy, modern and original - all the things a C64 remix should be. "Quality over quantity" is the cliche one often hears, and although Trauma only released one thing, it was excellent!

Edit: on reflection, Sonic Wanderer also deserves a mention for some pretty good attempts at C64 remixes in 2003.
