Benn, Hare and 'fiddler trio - good acoustic SIDs needed

Post by madfiddler »

There's a possibility that Benn and I will do an acoustic set at Retrovision in February.

So, what SID's would work well as guitar and fiddle.

We'll do Deflektor, Paperboy and Rasputin I'm sure, but have you got any ideas as to what other tracks would transfer to this format?

dunno if you've heard remix64 v2, but there's a rather nifty Violin/guitar accoustic sound on parallax Highscore on there, it's probably a bit dark for most people tastes, but a brighter version might work well.

One thing it did prove that parallax highscore does work nicely with violin

The 3 Outrun Musics should be good, Stormlord's main theme, Delta, Hawkeye, Hunters Moon, 180 Darts, Cybernoid would sound SO good on Violin with a guitar bassline. Push the boat out a little further and try Nemesis and or Salamander.

accoustic sound on parallax Highscore on there
Anything with parallax will suit me down to the ground.
Don't jump, if you do, you'll only fall and hurt yourself.

Far be it from me to blow my own trumpet, but I've included a couple of SIDs of my own in this selection. See what you think.

/Daglish_Ben/Firelord.sid subtune #1 (fiddler solo at the start)
/GAMES/G-L/Glider_Pilot.sid (check out JCH's cover also)
/Gray_Fred/Fox_Fights_Back.sid subtune #2 (manic fun, and I love Fred's tunes)
/Gray_Fred/ShadowFire.sid subtune #2
/Grieve_Nigel/Starglider.sid subtune #1
/VARIOUS/A-F/Blues_Muz/Herning_93.sid
/VARIOUS/A-F/Fanta/Madalena.sid
/VARIOUS/G-L/Gaston/Summerday.sid
/VARIOUS/G-L/Hannula_Antti/Frazze.sid
/VARIOUS/S-Z/Shogoon/Zone_of_Darkness.sid subtune #2
/VARIOUS/S-Z/Waz/Trimetophrim_Ibuprofen.sid
/VARIOUS/S-Z/Waz/Whitby.sid

and obviously...

/GAMES/A-F/Enlightenment_DruidII_PSID.sid subtune #3!

hehe, simple reason i didn't know you when this CD was started. Although the CD is now nearly 1 year old, it started production about 2.5 years ago ;)

/Hubbard_Rob/Final_Synth_Sample_I.sid #1
/Hubbard_Rob/Final_Synth_Sample_I.sid #2
/Hubbard_Rob/Final_Synth_Sample_I.sid #6
/Hubbard_Rob/Final_Synth_Sample_I.sid #7

/Hubbard_Rob/Final_Synth_Sample_II.sid #1 maybe too speedy.. ?

/Hubbard_Rob/Formula_1_Simulator.sid #1 worth a shot

/Tel_Jeroen/Classic_Piece.sid - I think this one could be really great!

Well... hard to decide..

Phil Bak did a SUPERB flute and guitar version of Monty on the Run's High Score theme. That would be aces. :)

Black Lamp subtune 1 would be good with a folksy guitar strumming backing a la that song where that man wants to go inside somebody's head (yes they do).
