My ears....

Post by trace »

My ears is wierd, in one ear everything sounds pitched a half note up with ring modulation :( everything sounds false ;/

It's not allways, i had it a few years ago too, and now today, it passes and everything goes back to normal thank good :)

Anyone had this experience? it's totally NOT fun ;/

Yup, i've had that :(

I usually get it if I go to a metal club and the music is too loud. It usually stops within a few days.

Weirdest thing was that the first time it happened, I thought my tv was borked :) Took me about half and hour of fiddling with the tv to realise it was me!

You should see a doctor anyway, Trace.
I don't want to scare you but what you've experienced there could be a small "ear infarct".

Back in the early 90's I got a "Knalltrauma", an ear trauma caused by an ammonition explosion. Doctors weren't so skilled and dismissed it as a minor incident. Now I've lost 50% of my hearing.
All is lost.

I can organise tinnitus home therapy for people in the Yorks/Lincs areas if need be.

According to this danish page

http://afdelinger.djh.dk/radio/stories/storyReader$99

Listening at 109 dB just 2 minuttes a day is harmful to the ear.

I wish I'd known that earlier.

180 dB corresponds to a canon being fired - at that level your eardrums are destroyed, just FYI. :D
