Site update

15/11/2025

Remix64 has instituted a system that flags remixes that were generated with AI. Those remixes will not be eligible for voting at the site (although may still be available for download at remix.kwed.org or AmigaRemix.com). If you are the author of such a remix and would like to challenge that flagging, you can contact us directly via Remix64's Contact page.

Visa Röster - Commodore 64 Vocally 1

Commodore 64 Vocally

by Visa Röster

Visa Roster stunned the crowd at Copenhagen and Back in Time Live Retro Concerts, to firmly establish themselves as crowd favourites. This is the CD they released at Back in Time Live St. Luke's in 2004, full of favourite tunes done in the style only they can do. Highlights include the transcendent Armagaddon Man, and the playfulness of International Karate.

Listening Recommendation

 Arkanoid (Title Screen)

Arranged by Richard Westall

Often the 'sid chip' gets forgotten about when an artist decides to remix a sid tune. In the early days of R64 many tunes were simply sid tunes with drums. I'd class this as a Sid remix with sid drums and some! Keeping the distinctive style of drum and sid this remix is just a dream to listen to. Not spoiling the original but enhancing it to a very professional level. Excellent!

M.U.L.E. (Aerobics in the jungle mix)

Arranged by Mahoney

I was watching TV recently, and the advertisement for Foot Locker and Nike's House of Hoops campaign came on. The music sounded so familiar. I thought they used part of this remix. So I did some research on the music in the ad. It turns out that the beat which Mahoney used as the background to this remix was originally created by DJ Strobe. The Track is Kodo - Strobe's Nanafushi (Satori mix) from the album Sai-So: The Remix Project out on Sony/Tristar music. Granted, Strobe's beat and the M. U. L. E. theme sound so great together, it's like they should have always been one track. But I thought it was interesting that I didn't find any mention of DJ Strobe's beat in the information about this remix, and I thought it should be clarified.

Latest Review

 Human Race

Arranged by Eivind Sommersten

This is quite the fresh take on the music of Human Race! Especially with all these fantastic synthetic sounds that are tickling my ears in all the right places. All packaged into this unnerving and somewhat sinister soundscape. I am almost relieved when it's over! (That's not a bad thing at all: it evokes a strong emotion in the listener, and that's good.)

But while it still gets a red smilie from me, I don't think it's quite up to the very high standard that Eivind set for himself. Not sure why, can't quite put my finger on it. Still excellent, just not Eivind excellent. Maybe I just need to listen to it more.
