Turrican 2 remix found

Post by tas »

Dunno if anyone has pointed this out, but i stumbled across a rather nice version of Turrican 2 (Main title)

http://80.222.85.220/files/music/turric ... _title.ogg

Took it from: http://nebularia.cjb.net/

If it's been mentioned before then humble appologies.

Turrican II Title music (remix by Tomi Jylhä-Ollila) used with permission of the original composer Chris Hülsbeck, courtesy of synSONIQ Records. All rights reserved. Download only for private use.

Judging from what i hear, it's the exact same version which is on Huelsbecks CD!

No - it isn't Neil.

The version by Nebularia is about 2 years old and was tracked on a PC. It's a 1:1 conversion of the original Turrican 2 (Amiga) title track, not so much a remix.
Chris himself is promoting it a little on his MP3 page. Also, the CD track you are referring to is probably the Turrican Medley from Shades Vol.1 (1991) - in that medley, Chris has parts from the first 2 Amiga games, one of them being the above tune. There is no CD version by Huelsbeck of this tune other than that. It is nice though I agree - particularly since it's PC tracker only. Nifty.

Thanks, though it's strange I'm doing this with an old track. Maybe I should start releasing new stuff.

Anyway, I took off the glasses, grew my hair a little longer and changed my avatar to someone who looks less like a bouncer. Maybe people will stop telling me I look mean (I stopped counting during BIT Germany...). Im a nice guy. Really. 8)

It's way older than 2 years, believe me...downloaded it from traxinspace.com, and this page is down for ages...

Anyway, it's the damn best IT-Tracker song I've ever heard (and it has more voices than i can count... ).

Just for the sake of completeness: the "Turrican 2" track by Nebularia was in fact released on the "Chris Hülsbeck In The Mix" album (published by ZYX Music in 2000), so it actually appeared on a Hülsbeck CD in the end.

Damn. It's the one CD I don't have because I was told it's crap. Is it the exact same version? It's not very dancey is it?

NO offence taken. Unless you have to tell me who Jimmy Hill is. And you're now going to. 8)
