Re: Thoughts on Remixer of the year 2010.
I was sadly overlook this year again. There should be a 'terrible (but covers up for it by being deliberately terrible) remixer of the year' category. I agree I would like to see another one or two catagories. Don't know about terrible remixer of the year though. RKO has high standards and anything...

Thoughts on Remixer of the year 2010.
Another year over and the votes are counted and the results have been broadcast. Do you agree with the overall results? Post your thoughts/rants/disappointments/delights. I think overall the results were as expected with the usual suspects coming up top - well done guys! Bit disappointed I ...

Taped up Brand names question.
Why do famous musicians tend to tape up their keyboard brand names to the audience? For example, Whilst watching Jean Michel Jarre Live in Solidarnosc DVD, I noticed that Jarre had the Brand names on the keyboards taped up. I wonder why a decision was made to do this? Jarre is well known for stating...

Original electro tune that uses the sid chip.
Hi sid fans!
I've just uploaded my Original tune titled "Life On Mars" on soundcloud. I used my C64 for the Bass and for the plinky sound. Hope you like it.

Re: The shape of the scene 10 years on
Either way contributors who submit a remix will still get more listeners than if they were to produce an original piece and submit it to say myspace only for it to get lost in the tailend of the many thousands of tracks. The C64 scene has a ready made audience!

Demos or Game Music.
What sid remixes do you mostly like to listen too. Remixes from demos or remixes from games.
I like remixes from games as these are the sid tunes I grew up with.

Re: Jean Michel Jarre world tour?
Nice to see Jarre awarded a life time achievement award from MOJO though I don't think his musical career has quite finished yet!

Not a sid tune ?? Why does it say this?
When I try to convert sid tunes to midi via the Sid2MIDIw application it says its not a midi file yet it has the sid extension and plays in the sidplayer. Whats going on? Way Of The Exploding Fist is one example.

Re: The shape of the scene 10 years on
I remember once a guy did a remix of x-out on here in the british rap style and it got pretty much ripped apart for being too wordy makes you wonder if he'd released that now would it have gotten a better run at things?. I'm sure had it been released today it would still get ripped apart - maybe ev...

Re: The shape of the scene 10 years on
You know I could be wrong about this opinion but instrumental electronic music isn't quite in vogue at the moment. Back in 2000 Trance music was pretty big along with a few other dance styles and electronic music was going through a bit of a revival then mid way through the naughties things started ...

Re: The shape of the scene 10 years on
Whatever music style is currently in vogue 10years from now I'm sure a skilled remixer will remix a sid tune to it. Sid tunes are timeless. The internet is a relatively new concept so it's more of a question of what will downloading or listening to music be like on the internet 10 years from now, wi...

Re: Taking a break from the scene for a bit...
All the best to you. I'll be taking a break from remixing now as well (act Martin Dodd). It's been a fantastic 5 years making remixes I've learned so much and had fun in the process too! I'm off now to join a Rock Band. My sister project dr.blitzen will also have to be put on hold as well. ...

Dalek Attack
I was cleaning some files on my computer and came across this remix that I submitted to RKO a few years ago but for whatever reason it never made the list. As a new season of Doctor Who has now hit our screens then I decided to rerelease it. Here is the link. Theme tune remix from Dalek Attack publi...

Re: Tomorrow is Zombie Nation day
My guess is that Zombie Nations publishers are suspending any royalties owed to them as its their most successful track until this is sorted out which is why they are so keen on owning it. I think David's got a good case though, in that his version was done first on a C64 commercial game and althoug...

Re: Tomorrow is Zombie Nation day
I see said the blind man! If David loses then Zombie Nation stand to make more money from compilations/publishing/songs in films/tv PRS/ MCPRS rights. I hope David wins if only to prove that it was his idea in the first place!! I think they will have to share the copyright though as it wasn't sorted...
