Need Help with Wireless Internet Connection from a Laptop

Post by HeadingtonBard »

Hi All ! :D

I recently bought an SMC Wireless Router, which works well via the RJ45 connection, but doesn't work via wireless for the Laptop. It is as if Internet Explorer fails to recognise the Connection to the Wireless Router, even if the Connection is Excellent and Secured. I have tried to check the setting on the router, they seem ok !

Can anyone help ? :(

Check to see if your assigned IP address (i'm assuming you are using DHCP) is in the same range as your router. My laptop keeps brain-farting and assigning itself an IP address other than 192.168 etc etc.

Thank you for you help. I actually turned off all of the security settings on the Router, then the Laptop. I then slowly selected a passwords for the router and Laptop ... Behold ! It worked ! :)
