Getting my mod into Renoise 1.9?

Post by Dunny »

Anyone know how I can get this mod to load in Renoise? I've tried downloading the early versions (which the help file suggests), but it doesn't load in them either...

http://paul.dunn.googlepages.com/through_the_ice.mod

If anyone can convert this to the renoise format so I can start remixing it, I'd be most grateful.

I took a quick look at the header and it is a standard Soundtracker file format... maybe something in the header is not quite right and Renoise doesnt like it. Regardless, I converted the MOD to XM for you and plays just fine in Renoise 1.9.1, sorry I dont have a proper place to host such files. If you cant download from there let me know and maybe I'll just e-mail it to you.

grab it from here:

This mod sounds like it was built right on Karsten Obarskis "Crystal Hammer"!

Uses all the same samples, from ST-01, which is why it sounds similar.

I have to say, this remixing thing isn't very easy. Where do you lot get decent samples/instruments from?

You're so right, Micha! :-)
It's the harmonies and those repetitive notes basically.
ST-01 based tunes can sound a LOT different,
just check this out:

(I don't wanna diss you btw, I just thought it was apparent when
I listened to your tune)

I suppose now that I listen to them side by side... :-)

Still gonna remix this one though. I'm trying to do it in a trance style, but not having much luck, having never done this before... Gonna take a while.
