BIT Live 2026 Schedule
The schedule for the Commodore remix event of the year better known as BIT Live 2026 has been posted, and it's quite a doozy! There will be performances by Double Score Dungeon, NecroPolo, Jeroen Tel, Linus Åkesson (lft), and, of course, by FastLoaders! Ziona will also play a DJ set, there will be a C64 Café with SID music, and in-between SLAY Radio will be playing remixes on-site (they also plan to stream the entire event online). If you are still on the fence about attending, this lineup should convince you to buy your tickets now!

8-Bit Weapon's trademark SID 'n Drums is here, for those who wish remixes had more of that powerful SID sound, and less faffing about 😊 Seth Sternberger is an experienced live performer who's done Las Vegas and London, and is currently being marketed by Nokia: normally his sound is more eclectically 8-bit, but here he's targeted his favourite SIDs and put his imprint on them, to great effect. The album is available as a digital album in FLAC and MP3 (note the whole album
download), but 64 limited edition signed and numbered copies in a 5.25 disk sleeve are available too. Highlights of the album include the trippy
Acidgroove", and the epic Times of Lore main theme which apparently took two weeks just mastering!

I listened once and was I was enthralled. I listened again and I was almost driven to tears.
Maybe this was nostalgia? Maybe those, almost tears, were the culmination of finding the site and hearing possibly what I'd hoped to hear. A modern beautiful rendition of one of my favourite Rob Hubbard soundtracks.
When playing Lightforce, Hubbards soundtrack smacked of the pinacle of his '64 writing career, it was modern to me, it was progressive, I loved the filter sounds, I loved the slow attacks of the lead sounds and the general organic feel to the flow of this soundtrack.
And yet Rob Hubbard hates it?
Maybe it wasn't commercial enough for him to realy apprieciate what a grand and elegant track he had created.
Allister's version seemed to capture all I had hoped for in a '64 game music remix at that time, and, to be honest, I've still to hear any other '64 remix that makes me feel the same way. Do I have terrible taste in '64 game music?
