FTC - 01:04 Eternal

1:04 Eternal

by FTC

FTC is one of my favourite remixers, and I'm proud to present the first Album in Progress at C64Audio.com. This is the starting point for FTC's album. The headline tracks will be re-recorded and remixed over time by me, and you'll have access to them automatically (at no extra charge) when they appear. Although some of FTC's work is chaotic, at its best, it evokes the spirit of late-night coding, and sometimes even a sinister Richard Carpenter vibe: at other times, it takes a portion of a SID and skews it so far that it turns into a beautiful piece of art. These are remixes in the true sense of the word. And: the most important thing: FTC has his own sound, and his own style. Even more impressive, his original stuff is as good as his SID covers. And sometimes better 😊 Keep following this one: buy into it now, download the many pieces on the CD and the bonuses (FTC produced many tracks that didn't get to RKO), and enjoy!

Listening Recommendation

Dance at Night (original synth mix)

Arranged by Chris Huelsbeck

This is an awesome tune. It reeks of 80's, and for those of you who dig the 80's era, and not just in terms of music, ought to love this. Nostalgia!

The melody has been improved over the original SID version, so those of you familiar with the original should definately check this out.

For me, many 80's tunes evoke feelings of sadness, discipline, striving, even turmoil maybe - some of which you may find are brought out in this great track.

Keep 'em comin' Chris!

 Lord of the Rings

Arranged by Markus Schneider

For me this remix doesn’t break any new territory. In most parts of the track it sounds like a stock standard midi file. I not a big fan of synthesised orchestral instruments, as they sound too plain and artificial. The strings at the beginning also hang a little too long for my liking. A subtle build-up or rumbling bass along side this would of helped. Try and be more daring next time, and experiment with alternative instruments and sounds.
