Peter Clarke scores big at ROTY 2020
ROTY 2020 awards were presented by ziona, Boz and Slaygon on 20th February 2021.The show began with some interesting stats, showing how the year boasted the most releases since 2008! The show itself marked a step-up in visual presentation, having the hosts on split screen and some kick ass rendered graphics during the music. As usual, the ROTY show was framed by a rundown of the year, recapping what remixes were popular in each month. The first award, Best Newcomer, went to Ctrl-Z.
vincenzo was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his countless contributions within the remixing scene and the demoscene, as musician and organiser. An awesome and humble guy!
Last but not least, the big winner of the night was without any doubt Peter Clarke, who managed to score four awards: both Best Amiga Remix and Best c64 Remix for his interpretation of Space Harrier. On top of that, he was awarded Best Veteran, and the big one: Remixer Of The Year.
Check out the full result lists.
Congrats to all the winners, follow-ups, and to everyone on the list! 😃

An Interview With Warren Pilkington (2020 Edition)
Warren Pilkington (Waz) has been involved with the c64 scene for decades in various ways. He's provided content for several magazines. He's a former member of HVSC and has ripped many c64 SID's for the cause. He's also an accomplished sid musician. Yet, he often goes under the radar due to his humbleness. In this Interview I've enlisted the help from well known contacts. LaLa, Dan Gilgrass, Barry Thompsn (Tomsk), Peter Clarke and myself fire away the questions in extraordinary in depth interview.
Remembered & Remastered Volume 2: Richard Joseph
Prior to writing music for the games industry Richard was an active musician/singer. He joined the the prog rock group CMU
on their second album before joining Jazz funk band Shakatak. He also released a solo single for EMI. It wasn't til 1986 when he replied to an advert from Palace Software seeking a musician for their games in the now defunct Melody Maker
.
I’d just spent a year composing about 100 tunes on a Yamaha CX5 music computer (including the ‘famous’ Robocod one), and had tinkered with a Spectrum so it wasn’t that hard to convince Palace.
Sadly Richard passed away in March 2007 and through the eyes of the remixer we remember him and his work on both the C64 and the Amiga home computers and remember him
An Interview with Peter Clarke
Key points of Discussion are:
• His composing days on the c64
• His time at Ocean Software
• His working relationship with Martin Galway
• His current work within the remix64 scene
• His own musicial works
