Story

Subtune 2 of Shadowfire is one I've wanted to revisit & re-cover for a while. It's one of the really great C64 anthems from the early 80's.

 

Fred Gray has said many times in interviews that when he was writing subtune 2, he was hearing something bigger, (orchestra). So, with a golden opportunity to write a huge orchestral piece, I sit down and turn out 'bass, drums, analog synths, guitar & Fender Rhodes piano'. go figure!

Sometimes when the creative tap gets turned on, you don't know whats going to come out.

The original is a hypnotising SID, one of my fav Fred Gray's. And this prog rock remix adds very nice twists. I really like how different parts are dressed up. Great work!

Wow! Having spent an hour listening through your remixes on here, I got to this one which I didn't remember listening to previously, (although, I must have because I'd voted on it). I really like the 2nd subtune in this remix. Although the 2 halves marry together perfectly, the 2nd part just lifts you. I remember Shadowfire quite well. The music was always the thing that elevated the game. Great job!
